An access PoE++ switch of the S5750M series with 12 100/1000/2.5G/5G/10GBase-T PoE ports and 6 SFP28 10/25GbE slots. The model is designed for enterprise environments requiring full layer 3, multi-gigabit ports, PoE++ 60W support, PIM routing and high uplink performance.

  • IP Source Guard provides source IP address filtering at layer 2 to limit an unauthorised host impersonating the IP address of an authenticated user.
  • The S4600 series supports DHCP Snooping, which helps prevent attacks using a rogue DHCP server and lets you set trusted and unused ports.
  • Access Control Lists (ACLs) can be used to restrict access to sensitive network resources by filtering packets according to defined rules.
  • The S4600 X series supports L2 security features such as ARP protection, ARP scanning and MAC protection mechanisms.
  • Port-based access control (IEEE 802.1X) allows user authorisation before gaining access to the network.

Advanced management

  • Advanced administration of DCN switches is available via the command line interface (CLI) and a web-based graphical interface.
  • Network traffic can be monitored using the sFlow and SNMP protocols.

10Gb ports

  • The S4600 X series offers up to 4 ten-gigabit ports that can work as a redundant link cooperating with ring-protection features.
  • SFP+ ports support 10-gigabit and 1-gigabit transmission.

Network protection

  • The S4600 X series supports 4 gigabit uplink ports that can work as redundant links, increasing network scalability and performance.
  • G.8032 (ERPS) with a 50 ms network-structure switchover time provides protection in the event of a link failure and fast recovery of L2 traffic in a ring topology.
  • The Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) allows the introduction of multiple logical network topologies and the assignment of multiple VLANs.
  • MRPP is a DCN protocol offering ring protection, fast convergence and a simple operating algorithm.

Stacking

  • Virtual Switch Framework (VSF) lets you combine multiple DCN switches into one logical device.
  • Using VSF simplifies management, increases operational reliability and lets you share information tables and data between switches.
