Do the IS2100D switches need fans?
No — the entire IS2100D series uses passive (fanless) cooling. No moving parts means a lower risk of failure, quiet operation and greater resistance in dusty industrial environments.
What is the difference between the TX and GT variants?
TX variants have 10/100 Mb/s access ports (Fast Ethernet), while GT variants have 10/100/1000 Mb/s (Gigabit) ports. Both types have 2 SFP fibre uplinks (100/1000). For newer cameras, access points and devices requiring more throughput, choose the GT variant.
How many devices will a PoE variant power?
Models marked "-P" support the PoE and PoE+ standards (IEEE 802.3af/at) with a 240 W power budget across 8 ports. That is enough to power IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points, VoIP phones and sensors without separate power supplies.
